For 15 years, Shannon Taggart has been photographing a tiny hamlet in Western New York called Lily Dale where spiritualism reigns. Spiritualism is a religion based on communicating with the dead through table tipping, séance rooms, ghostly rappings and spirit photography, among other means. “I peered into something truly mysterious," Taggart says.
