Today's #PWOParty, featuring some #AnabolicSprinklez for good measure?? As an athlete, nutrition plays such an imperative role in my performance and recovery. I need to be sure that I’m fueling my body to support it the best way I can. But aside from the mechanics, I also preach enjoying your food as well! Eating ought to be fun, not torturous! (#AntiTilapia???) Through flexible dieting, I have adopted an approach to nutrition that comprises both of these needs. I track my macros (macronutrients) using a food scale. I got my scale from @vanityplanetstore Apply the code 'SRFIT" to http://vpwow.com/srfit and you'll get the scale for 50% off-- from $40 to $20! I love this scale for its many unit conversions, which has saved me from doing the converting myself (#AntiMath). Also loving the sleek red finish and its circular shape. ?? While I do track my food, I still enjoy going out to eat, and when I’m lazy, I rely on my own eyes to do the tracking for me. For me, there are no rigid rules when it comes down to using a scale. I have moved past fearing nutrition or any disordered implications that follow along with it. The scale is simply a tool that I use, but it holds no mastery over me. ------------------------------ With that being said, do I recommend tracking to everyone? Absolutely not, especially if you’re struggling with any form of disordered eating. If you are currently struggling, tracking macros can really trigger obsessive and restrictive habits. For this reason, it is IMPERATIVE that you’re honest with yourself in assessing your intentions and mental readiness. Mental health comes first, ALWAYS.?? I know plenty of people who would cringe at the thought of tracking everything they ate. Some call it time consuming, disordered, unnecessary. And that's okay! If macro tracking doesn’t work for you, ditch it! If my philosophy on nutrition doesn’t align with yours, tune it out! My only hope is that ,with any decision you DO make, that it comes from a place of self-care and value-driven intentions? For me, these intentions are reached by flexibility, adherence, enjoyment… and a ton of Froyo?????
