What were your motivations back then? Why did you choose to join Instagram? Answer: Just as we try to innovate with technology, we strive to innovate across social media as well. Instagram was becoming more and more popular, and we saw it as a great opportunity to tell our story in a unique way. While it’s taken us a while to fully flesh out our strategy today, it’s one of our most valuable channels. ________________________________________Q: How relevant is Instagram for a brand like @uber? What benefits does Instagram offer you? A: We see Instagram as a platform to share beautiful moments with people. In our case, it allows us to encourage a sense of wanderlust through the eyes of riders and driver-partners. From celebrating the 300+ cities we’re in to spotlighting people in our community, it gives Uber the opportunity to showcase stories from a perspective we can’t easily showcase on other channels. We can tell our followers we’re in Paris, but when we get the chance to post a photo Paris, we can actually take them there — even if it’s just for a second.  ________________________________________Q: Work aside, what are your 3 accounts you recommend following? A: Easy. @Emolabs, he does beautiful poetry against scenic backdrops. @Jerm_Cohen because he has a very unique photography style and loves playing to Internet humor. And @DallasClayton for his inspirational words that always brighten up any day.
