Photo by @stephenwilkes: Today is the third day of COP21, a United Nations conference in Paris where leaders from 150 nations are meeting to discuss how we can globally unite to combat what is no longer just a partisan issue: climate change.
This image was taken during Super Storm Sandy in 2012 when the Jet Star roller coaster in Seaside Heights, NJ was broken from its pier and engulfed by the storm. It then remained, rusting in the sea for six months until New Jersey workers were able to demolish it, piece by piece.
Several studies have taught us that human emissions of greenhouse gases have made and will continue to make weather events like Hurricane Sandy more severe. I eagerly await hearing how our world’s leaders plan to come together to create change for our planet’s greater good.
