Photo by @stephenwilkes: This image is one of five from my series, Day to Night, included in the January issue feature story reflecting on 100 years of our National Parks.
I spent 30 hours shooting this Day To Night of Yellowstone National Park. By the end, I was intimately familiar with Old Faithful, and its steady stream of eruptions. The geyser shoots boiling water into the sky on such a reliable schedule that eruptions are predicted with an impressively small 10 minute margin of error. Photographing it was a truly incredible experience.
I photographed this Day To Night from the Crows Nest at the historic Old Faithful Inn. Deemed unstable for tourists after a 1959 earthquake, the Crows Nest has been closed to the public for almost 60 years. I was granted special access to the small structure, where I spent 30 hours photographing from this rare vantage point.

I'm thrilled that this image is currently being shown at my Day To Night exhibition at @brycewolkowitz Gallery in New York City.
