Today I had my first workout in 11 days. The last time I took that many days off from training was after my PCL tear 3 years ago.
I couldn't believe how weak I felt and halfway into the workout my legs actually started to visibly shake. I don't remember the last time I was that fatigued during a workout and I can 100% say that I've never been that fatigued while instructing one of my classes.
It's crazy what nearly 2 weeks off of training does to you when you're used to being so active and it really put me in the shoes of so many of you who are just starting out on or getting back into your fitness journeys.
It's a frustrating situation to be in but it gets better.
You get stronger,
More powerful,
Faster.
The loads start to get heavier and easier at the same time.
You become more in tune with your body and with that, learn that a fitness journey is about so much more than the way you look.
Wherever you are right now in your journey- whether you're neck deep or thinking about making some changes:
It usually gets worse before it gets better. You'll be sore and weak and fatigued but your body will adapt and somewhere along the way so will your mind.
If your mind can think it your body can do it.
Think it. Do it. Live it.
