By the time the moon peaked over the mountains at Yellowstone National Park, I had been shooting Old Faithful for over 18 hours. I had watched the geyser erupt well over a dozen times, each more impressive than the last. Each time, all in its wake paused to take in its spectacular bursts. Yet, there in the distance was the moon slowly rising--unencumbered, and peaceful as ever. It was an incredible moment, watching life go by simultaneously. No single object fighting for attention, but each existing harmoniously.
I'm thrilled that this image is currently being shown at my Day To Night exhibition at@brycewolkowitz Gallery in New York City as well as being featured in the January cover story of National Geographic. The image is one of five from my Day To Night series included in the issue, commemorating the 100th anniversary of our National Parks.
