Photo by @KristaRossow // One fun memory from 2015 is when I was asked while #onassignment with Nat Geo/Lindblad Expeditions to find a scenic location to be able to stop to take pictures when our bus was returning to the ship from a day out exploring Iceland.
I’d never been on the road before, but as we rounded a bend and I saw Icelandic horses (which look like ponies to me since I grew up with much larger breeds!) with this stunning backdrop, I asked the bus driver to stop (he quickly pulled into someone’s driveway in the middle of nowhere!) and I jumped out of the bus with a bunch of enthusiastic photographers behind me. All the ponies got into single file to watch us curious creatures running down the road with our cameras. #NGExpedtions @LindbladExp @National Geographic Travel #horses #Iceland
