It’s still so hard to believe that Natalie is gone, especially at the young age of 65. I met her when she was traveling with her father during our 1960 tour (Nat King Cole, Quincy Jones & his Big Band). She was only 10 years old at the time, but she had such a sweet spirit & was such a classic talent even then. Natalie & my baby, Jolie, went to the same camp when they were about 12 years old & she was just like a daughter to me. I recently saw her with Oprah when I was in the same hospital & even in the midst of despair, her spiritual energy was not exhausted. Her music is a reflection of who she was as a human being, because she had her father’s legacy, joined with her own innate talent. Even with her father gone, she managed to make “Unforgettable,” truly unforgettable in our hearts. Natalie, I know your father was proud of you at every step of your career & I hope you know that I have always been as well. Love you baby.
