Somebody told me when I was very young that there are three phases you go through. That’s the quest for materialism, which is survival, especially if you’re going to be in Chicago. Then, psychologically, a quest for power, to see if money means anything. That’s all normal and that’s natural, which you’re supposed to go through, before you reach the final stage of giving and not expecting anything in return. That to me is the best feeling in the world, when you see kids that didn’t have a chance, where you could do a little bit to help or involve an organization that could help. It’s just up to you to decide what stage you’re in.
