Photo by @Gerd Ludwig. This April marks the 30th anniversary of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. The ghost town of Pripyat, less than 3km from the failed Chernobyl nuclear reactor, was constructed in the 1970s for the plant's personnel. Its 50,000 inhabitants were evacuated 36 hours after the accident.
