@Robert Clark Two of my major influences talk at the @ナショナルジオグラフィック seminar, #jaymaisel and @psihoyos . I had the great fortune to work with Jay at his legendary bank building home on the Bowery in Manhattan. Jays beautiful graphic images are the reason that thousands of people picked up cameras. He was mentored in color photography by #ernesthaas and worked at Yale under the brilliant #Buckminsterfuller. I had never meet Louie until the day before the seminar, but I had know is images well....I first saw the work when he was a student at the University of Missouri, then in the pages of National Geographic. Louie worked on complicate stories, trash around the world, Sleep and Smell, and always made them very visual. After the Geographic he has gone on the direct the academy award winning documentary #TheCove and most recently #RacingExtinction about the 6th major extinction event in the planets history, that being the one we are in now. The film shows and focuses attention on the fact that mankind is responsible for endangering and eradicating countless species.
