Our keepers at the Small Mammal House brought some snow to our black-footed ferrets to nose around in yesterday! Black-footed ferrets are native to the western plains of North America and were once thought extinct in the wild. At the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute we breed them and send ferrets to be reintroduced to the western plains each year. #WeSaveSpecies
