Did you wake up on time this morning? (Maybe even to the tune of Sonny and Cher?)

This 1960s digital clock is on display in #ObjectProject. Americans got in the habit of setting their alarm clocks in the early 1900s, when more people were living in cities and punching in at jobs in offices, factories, and department stores. With more appointments and obligations, modern life demanded being on time. A 1920 advertisement for alarm clocks read, “The essence of success is punctuality, and to be on time one must possess a dependable clock.” ?
