“I always loved Brancusi's 'The Kiss.' Not necessarily for the obvious reason that it reminds me of a Far Side comic character embracing a Cathy comic strip, or its relation to Claes Oldenburg's monumental Clothespin in Center City, but rather because of its location in the museum. Situated between the torrid violence of Twombly's 'Fifty Days at Illiam' and the sensual macabre of Duchamp's 'Étant Donnés,' lives a humble chapel filled with Brancusis. In the far back of the room, under the soft white arc of the ceiling, low to the ground, amidst a sea of totems, live these two lovers, forever embracing, making it through the day and nite, together, forever.” – artist Alex Da Corte (@alexdacorte)
