Thank you everyone for helping me reach 10K followers! I really appreciate it and check back on my page in the coming days for a image print "thank you"! If you're curious, this is 20 hour old sea otter pup getting groomed by its mother. Yes, you read it correct. This little ball of fluff was less than a day old when this image was taken today off the back decks of the Monterey Bay Aquarium. She is a wild otter and like her, other female otters will use the tide pools behind the aquarium to give birth to their pups, due to the shelter the rocks provide. I really can't think of anything quite cuter than this and if you live anywhere in the area, I highly recommend heading there to see it! Almost a century ago we believed the southern sea otter was extinct due to over hunting, but luckily a small population in Big Sur survived and gave way to the thousands of otters living off California's central coast today.
