The first Radiomir prototype, created in 1936, had a dial with a minute track and various kinds of indexes: linear or with tringles at the cardinal points, Roman numerals in the upper half and Arabic numerals in the lower half. In practice this design gradually took on the name of “California” and has also been used by Officine Panerai in some of the contemporary models greatly admired by collectors.
