Congratulations to the winner of the #TPSSony Instagram contest @kylan_thomson! Our judge @Robert Clark had a tough time sorting through thousands of entries but this image stood out above the rest! Here is what Rob had to say about the winner: “This photo illustration is very far from the work that I do but it uses elements of reality and channels into something creatively expressive–while paying homage to one of my favorites paintings, “Starry Night” by Vincent van Gough.
An interesting fact about “Starry Night” is that van Gogh painted the picture while in an institution, working in an art therapy room, that is still used for that purpose today. I learned this from a story photographed about the painter from the great Lynn Johnson @ljohnphoto who is also a member of the @thephotosociety.
