Today we are showcasing a photograph of the Australian Pavilion at the New York World's Fair 1939, photographed by Robert E. Coates, for the Australian architectural firm Stephenson & Turner in 1939.
The photograph features the travel section with images of Australian fauna, including a large graphic of two koalas, lining the wall. A woman wearing a dark knee-length skirt, white collared shirt and bowtie stands at a low table in the right of the image. On the back of the photograph are handwritten notes, a typed description and a stamp crediting the photographer.
