Jenny Schwalbach and I got hitched 17 years ago today. We were mixing #Dogma at #Skywalker Ranch in 1999 while Jen was already eight months pregnant with @harleyquinnnn_ - so our lifelong journey together begins with a shotgun wedding. Nestled in the hills of Marin County, Skywalker Ranch is pastoral and huge at the same time. We'd already been sound mixing for a week when Jen said "If we ever get married one day, it should be here. It's so beautiful." 48 hours later, we were suddenly knee-deep in pulling off an elopement. We found a Dutch Catholic monk online and picked up rings in San Francisco at @ティファニー before meeting at the fireplace in the main house. And what I thought would simply be "Dating, Phase 2" birthed a nearly 2 decade partnership that day, solidified the moment the guy in the robes started talking about how once he says the magic words, marriage becomes so real only a court can legally end it. And I looked at the woman I barely knew standing across from me, her belly full of our kid... And suddenly, I was in awe. This was it: the start of my real life - with someone I'd only known for about a year. It was a leap of faith for both of us and 17 years later, we're still leaping. After the wedding, we held an impromptu reception at @ihop (where this photo was taken by @samosier). So to celebrate a so-far successful 17 years, today I'm taking my wife out for whatever she wants... at #iHop. I love you, Jenny.
