Took a wefie with DPM Teo and the Permanent Secretaries at yesterday’s Administrative Service dinner and promotion ceremony (apologies to PS Tee How and PS Benny who got cut off at the edge :) ). Both good politics and good policies are needed for the Singapore system to work. Our political leaders and senior civil servants play different roles, but they must share the same fundamental values and ideals — like meritocracy, multi-racialism and clean government — and the same major premises about Singapore.

Our politics and policies have worked constructively together to bring us to SG50. We have to keep this virtuous circle going so that political leaders and the civil service can work hand in hand to lead Singapore forward. – LHL (Photo by me)
