Half the park is after dark. When most people are sleeping, the stars come out to play. I love astrophotography, not only because I get to see the stars at night but also because I mostly have them all to myself. The quiet, cold night air is intoxicating, as are the stars that glimmer above. The downside is waking up at ungodly hours and crawling out of the warm bed. But I cannot remember a time when I wasn't glad I forced myself up and out of bed, no matter how strong the urge to stay sleeping.
