we have rhubarb in abundance - it seems the more i pull the more appears - it's lovely in all sorts of dishes but perhaps my favorite is the simple classic compote - just a handful of deep ruby stalks cut and simmered with a little water and maybe a clove or two - swirl in a scant spoonful of sugar stirring until it dissolves - thats all there is to it - dished out still warm from the pan over thick natural yogurt and a generous sprinkle of hempseed - it is a heavenly morning treat
