Something I didn't realize before I got to the goldmine was that there is a whole community surrounding the mine, a little village even. Most of the people have or rent a place to sleep right next to the mining pit. Many kids and grownup's never leave the site, mining is their whole life, they can buy things in little shops and eat at little stalls. There are also kids that try to sell their goods like banana's, eggs and tomatoes on the site where the actual work is done. In this community there is also a kind of social control, worried as I got about these kids, it was good to see that they are looked after by the community. #stopchildlabour
