It almost has a machine quality to it, reflecting how Moholy embraced new industrial manufacturing techniques to make art. It’s emblematic of Moholy’s pursuit of industrial materials, and it truly embodies dynamic energy, motion, in the sculptural form. Moholy truly believed that new materials called for some kind of new art, especially in a new world which was very much dedicated to modernity.
