Une femme est assise dans un champs de drapeaux américains qui ont été installés en vue du Memorial Day à Boston Common, le plus ancien jardin public de Boston, le 26 mai.
Le Memorial Day, célébré chaque année le dernier lundi de juin (cette année le 30), est un jour de congé extrêmement important aux Etats-Unis. Il rend hommage à tous les membres des forces armées morts au combat.
Ces 37000 drapeaux ont été plantés en mémoire de chaque membre orginaire du Massachussets tombé depuis la guerre d'indépendance jusu'à aujourd'hui.
