In a city obsessed with wealth and status, living (and working) at supertall altitude is a privilege. @christopherandersonphoto took this picture inside the officers of Servcorp, a work space on the 85th floor of 1 World Trade Center. The building, which was completed in 2014, reaches 1,776 feet into the sky. In this week’s issue of @nytmag, editor in chief @silverjake writes that in 10 years, views like this one might seem quaint, even inferior. “But today they provide an uncommon glimpse into the city’s rarefied new neighborhood in the sky,” he says. For @nytmag’s New York issue, photographers and writers explored the high-altitude archipelago that spreads among the top floors of 21 of New York’s tallest skyscrapers — 34 million square feet made up of lavish living spaces, vertigo-inducing work environments and elite gathering places.
