Tapestry skirts are literally taking over my life! I've loved sewing from a very young age with one of my first memories being of my mother teaching me how to sew around the edge of a tea towel on her singer sewing machine. I find knitting a very relaxing pass time for which my daughter and I frequently make little hats and scarves for her teddies and dolls. And at school I took textiles for GCSE and made handbags and clothes, with my home now filled with handmade advent calendars for the children, Christmas stockings, table runners, curtains and cushions that I have made over the years. Whatever form your creativity and happiness takes please always embrace it, whether you're a wrestler or a ballerina, a chef or an architect, a big part of life is found in losing yourself in doing the things that make you happy and whenever I see a tapestry skirt it takes me back to my childhood where I first discovered my love for textiles and textures.
