今日は、ナバホのシルバースミスであるサンシャインリーブス(Sunshine Reeves )が、家族と共に、旅行で日本に来ていたのでみんなで食事に行った。

サンシャインが、ナバホ族の婚礼の儀で使われるという"weddingbase "を、
結婚の祝いにとプレゼントしてくれた。
ウェディングベースを作ったのは
自分の娘用が初めてで、これが二個目だと。

とても嬉しい。
旦那はその昔サンシャインにダイレクトにコンタクトをとって、長い付き合いをしてきた。私のファーストインディアンジュエリーは8年前くらいに買ったサンシャインリーブスだった。

縁を繋ぐものを、サンシャインが形にしてくれたようで、温かい気持ちになった。

いろんなシルバージュエリーがあるけれど、私はサンシャインのスタンプワークが本当に好きで、こうして今日は家族みんなで会えた縁に感謝したい。

We went out for dinner with Sunshine Reeves, Master of Navajo Silversmith, and his family since they come to Japan for summer vacation.
Before the dinner he bring Navajo traditional style of Wedding Bases for our wedding gift. He said this is 2nd time to make this small size Wedding Base since he made first one to his daughter.
We are very very happy about his thoughtful present.
Long time ago, my husband started direct business with Sunshine, and still their friendship is continuing.
My first Indian jewelry piece is bracelet by Sunshine Reeves, I bought back in 2008.
I feel Sunshine made our inseparable bond to the shape, and it really warm our heart up.
There are so many great Navajo silversmith, but Sunshine Reeves is definitely my most favorite Navajo artist, especially his stamp work.
We really appreciate this opportunity to meet him and his family today and hope their trip will be wonderful and bright memories to them!!
