As grown ups we teach kids that actions have consequences, to learn from our mistakes because mistakes are necessary for learning and to be kind. We teach our children to be accountable for their actions on and offline. Right? Yet I'm constantly blown away that as adults we often do the opposite in this country. Our leaders often avoid taking responsibility for their mistakes and project onto others. Then nothing is learned, nothing is changed and the cycle of dysfunction continues. As leaders of the free world it is time to acknowledge our mistakes. To be the best at anything one has to constantly polish and pivot. The only way to do that is to see what is working, what is not working, why it is not working and create new solutions on how to fix the problem. My heart goes out to all those who have lost their lives due to careless violence, hatred and lack of empathy. We are Americans and we can do so much better. I believe that that the solution is simple. Now more then ever we each need to lead by example, speak up for injustice, take responsibility for our actions and help our fellow neighbor instead of just focusing on our best interest/what is convenient. Divided we stay stuck in the problem, waste our valuable time and energy arguing, projecting and needing to be right. Together we can create solutions, heal heartache and change the world. If you agree please hold your representatives accountable to stay on topic, acknowledge the problems and most importantly to do their jobs by making the world a better place for everyone. #blacklivesmatter #propolice https://www.facebook.com/thedailyshow/videos/10154304212146800/ @thedailyshow
