From Ruddy Roye (@ruddyroye), photographing in Dallas, Texas:
The rush to judgement has caused irreparable damage to Mark Hughes and his family. The refusal to retract the statement which unduly represented Mark as a suspect continues to expose him to grave danger. He has received at least 200 threats a day via email and his social media accounts towards his friends, family.
Philando Castile was killed even though he was a legal gun owner. Mark Hughes was labeled a terrorist even though all he did was to exercise his right to carry his weapon. Mark was depicted in this way solely because he was a black man with a gun.
The same prejudice that labeled Mark Hughes a domestic terrorist is the same prejudice that got Philando Castile killed.
Mark is seen here with Cory Hughes, his brother.
