In September CITES will meet in Johannesburg for CoP 17 & on the agenda is pantheraleo for potential change to Appendix 1. Before that IUCN will have a meeting, IUCN World Conservation Congress, 1-10 September in Hawai.
A motion filed concerns the captive breeding of lions & canned hunting:
