Yes, everyone with a camera gets lucky once in a while (just look on the Internet) but there is often no substitute for have a goal, and simply putting in the hours. Case in point: I have always liked this location and knew it had both the topography, and the right solar angle, to get dramatic rainbows. But to get rainbows…you need to get rain. So every morning for the past week, I have picked up my pre-dawn espresso and staked out this spot,, waiting for something to happen. For the first four days, nothing happened: either there were no rain showers, or just a solid wall of water.
