Only one more sleep until the Collider exhibition opens at the Powerhouse Museum! Here you can see the MAAS team hard at work installing a 2 tonne copper radio-frequency cavity used in the Large Electron-Positron (LEP) Accelerator. Made by @cern in Geneva, the LEP had a 27-kilometre circumference and was the largest electron-positron ever built. It operated from 1989-2000 until it was closed to make way for the Large Hadron Collider which was constructed in the same tunnel.
