With large eyes adapted for hunting in the dim ocean depths, it's hoped this little guy will continue to grow to several thousand pounds and then be released back into the wild someday. The MMCC is a hospital for sick and injured marine mammals that are stranded along the Los Angeles County coastline. Located in San Pedro, their staff does a great job primarily treating and releasing rescued California sea lions, northern elephant seals, Pacific harbor seals, northern fur seals and Guadalupe fur seals. #PhotoArk #photooftheday
