Happy National #Aviation Day, #avgeeks! #GE is constantly working to reinvent the way we think about aviation technology in order to unlock new opportunities for flight in the modern, #DigitalIndustrial era. This view of the belly of @boeing's next-generation 737 MAX passenger jet showcases a pair of LEAP-1B jet engines, developed by CFM International, a joint venture between @geaviation and Safran Aircraft Engines of France. The #LEAP is the world's first #jetengine to include 3D-printed components, as well as engine shrouds made from ceramic matrix composites (CMCs). As a result, these engines are quieter, easier to maintain, and 15 percent more fuel efficient -- not to mention, a great example of how far our #technology has come.
