“My family had a good life in Malam Fatori. My father was selling camels to rich people. We never lacked nothing. Thank God we’re alive, but we’ve lost everything, our camels, our jewels, our savings. Everything. The journey was too long without our camels. This is not ok for children or for adults to live like this. We haven’t done anything wrong. In the future I want to sell jewels. In my culture it’s a shame if a girl doesn’t wear jewels. I want girls and women to wear beautiful things.” Fatime Saleh, 10, from #Chad. Arab children from Darnaim site are all Chadian returnees. Most of them were living in semi-nomadic situation around Niger, Cameroon and Nigeria. Around July 2015, Boko Haram attacked the zone around the city of Malam Fatori where most of these children were staying at that moment. They had to leave everything they had behind them to get back to their country of origin. They are now benefitting from basic social services for the first time in their lives. #ChildrenUprooted © UNICEF/UN028722/Vincent
