“Sometimes I feel like a jazz dropout, you know?” @ノラ・ジョーンズ told @ニューヨーク・タイムズ. “But whenever I’m around those people, from high school or college or my early days in New York, everybody makes me feel like part of the family.” Jazz, or at least her homespun take on it, brought @ノラ・ジョーンズ one of the most decorated albums in recent history. “Come Away With Me” took home 8 Grammy Awards in 2003, but then the jazz pianist and singer sidled over to the countrified folk and low-gloss pop that marked her 3 subsequent albums, from 2004 to 2009, all certified platinum. But her new album “Day Breaks,” due on October 7, brings the 37-year-old musician back into the jazz fold without taking the safe or familiar route. @ryanpfluger took this portrait of #NorahJones in her home while on #nytassignment.
