At his peak, Warren Beatty was the epitome of Hollywood new and old: a larger-than-life matinee idol, lover boy and filmmaker whose work kick-started cinema’s new Golden Age in the 1970s. Now, 6 decades into his career, it’s clear the 79-year-old writer-director-actor still wants to — and does — hold sway. “Rules Don’t Apply,” opening November 23, is his first film in 15 years and the first one he has written, directed and starred in since 1998’s “Bulworth.” “I have compared this to, ugh, vomiting,” Warren told @ニューヨーク・タイムズ, speaking about making movies. “It’s not that I like to vomit. I do not like to vomit, and I can’t remember the last time I vomited.” He continued, “With a certain idea, I get to the point where I say, ‘Well, maybe I would feel a lot better if I just went ahead and threw up.’ And then I throw up.” @emilyberl took this portrait of #WarrenBeatty at the @fslosangeles in Beverly Hills.
