So busy training them glootes and delts that I forget I have abs sometimes ? I have done next to no direct abdominal exercises this prep. A majority of my abdominal work comes from indirect muscle recruitment - they are engaged in nearly all the exercises I do. OHP, sqwaaatz, laterals raises, bicep work, you name it. My abs don't need much to feel activated. In regards to aesthetics and their overall pronunciation, this is mostly due to genetics and the fact that I don't carry much weight around my midsection. (Glutes and quads are another story?) I don't believe that overworking your abdominal muscles is key to having them "pop". Oftentimes, when we overwork that area, it may prevent us from properly executing various exercises due to the overall fatigue in our abdominals, which may lead to compromised form, subsequent injuries, etc etc. A key reminder I encourage you guys to entertain in your thoughts when working out/looking at yourself in the mirror/looking at the physique of others is the role genetics plays in our weight distribution, shape, sizes, muscle growth susceptibility, responsiveness to stimuli, and more. These factors play a huge role, and we ought to stop beating ourselves up over the things we can't control. That takes way too much energy in my opinion. It's far more beneficial to love and embrace all that you have in front of you. Nothing good comes from wishing parts of you away. Remember this? #SelfLoveERRDAYYY #FightForPrep #FightForGrowth
