the air has turned lovely and cold and I'm reaching for a heavier layer as the late afternoon sets in - surfacing from an afternoon of emails at the computer and admin catchup to make a cup of tea, chai seems an appropriate choice, especially after an eventful morning of learning to drive a stick shift car - all in anticipation of our christmas trip to Ireland - as an American this is not a skill I ever had to master, but rather have dabbled over the years in the art of driving - but it's been ten years since I spent my first christmas in the emerald isle and this year seemed as good as any to learn - I think my wanderlust is getting the better of me and the stick shift stands as the passport of travel - in less far off places in thinking of making up a few of these pesto galettes for dinner only swapping out the zucchini for some thinly sliced sweet potato & a drizzle of pomegranate reduction (recipe in the blog archives)
