Image by @beverlyjoubert. It has been scorching hot in Botswana and incredibly dry. The last remaining water is attracting scores of animals and species interaction is high. There are those who will take over a waterhole given the chance, like this spotted hyaena who refused to move from his cool bath. Looking at him here, one could be forgiven for thinking that hyaenas are gentle creatures. But at night they join up in large predatory groups and are formidable, able to terrorize even the large Selinda lion pride. #Botswana #selinda #drought #hyaena
