The Ms. Senior America pageant, held this year in Atlantic City, New Jersey, caters not to women on the cusp of adulthood but to those who’ve experienced life in all of its joys and sorrows. Its contestants are doctors and nurses, business owners and executives, dancers and singers. They’ve escaped wars, survived illnesses, lost spouses and children. And yet, they’re still kicking — and kicking high. During the talent portion, the women displayed childhood hobbies or talents they never abandoned: tap dancing, singing and poetry. There was a baton twirler, a hula dancer, a pianist and a yodeler. One woman recited Portia’s plea to Brutus. The Streisand songbook got a workout. @rogerkisby took this photo of the The Dallas Tap Dazzlers while on #nytassignment in Atlantic City.
