Our sale of Topographical Pictures is tomorrow at Christie's London, King Street. Here, artist Johann Moritz Rugendas paints all the grandeur of the landscape here in another iconic view of Chile, looking down over the Central Valley to the Andes from the road above Valparaiso, a route much travelled by the artist during his residence in Chile between 1834 and 1842.
