Photo @pedromcbride // Salar de Uyuni. The world's largest salt flat (10,582 square kilometers) in southwest Bolivia was formed as a result of transformations between several prehistoric lakes. Covered by a few meters of salt crust, this area is called “flat” for a reason, with the average altitude variations within one meter. It is so large and flat that many of the earth’s observation use the Salar as an object to calibrate their altimeters. #nature
