“Rock climbing is something I’ve been doing since I was 12 years old, but because of my passion for the big mountains I’m often quite weak when I get back on rock. This November I decided to take an entire month in the Red River Gorge to try to climb 5.13, a difficult grade I’ve never attempted before. Early on in my trip I settled on this line - Gene Wilder (5.13a). I loved the technical moves, the slightly overhanging angle and the beautiful golden wall hidden in the trees. I built strength on other climbs for the first 2 weeks of my trip, then spent 9 days learning and attempting the line. On my second to last day of the trip, I sent!
