French painter and printmaker #JacquesVillon made this image of his sister, Yvonne Duchamp, as part of a series of large #Cubist portraits of family and friends. He combines geometric shapes, precisely spaced lines, and careful inking to fashion an almost seamless merging of figure and background. Yvonne’s head and body are clearly discernable, while also completely unified with her surroundings.
