With all the crazy crazy crazy things happening in the world, this message of hope is never a day too late. Around 2nd grade, I learned about MLK Jr. and what he did, and we also learned this song, which I love. Thank you Mr. King for inspiring me to fight for what is right, to not judge people by their appearances, to use my love to overcome. But with all the crazy crazy crazy stuff happening in the world today, I found myself saying "I WANT to believe that we will overcome". It surprised me that suddenly I could be so unsure. I thought on this for a while, and then remembered that all things are possible with love. And it starts with ourselves. Loving ourselves, which in turn allows us to love each other, and then to even love the people who are against us. We're all going to leave this world one day. We really only get one shot at this. One lifetime, however long or short it may be, to be the best version of ourselves. What will we leave behind? Who will our children say we were? We have the power to choose to either live in fear, or to live in love. It's not always easy, and sometimes I forget. I forget a lot. But today, and hopefully most days, I choose love. ❤️
