I shot these Coho salmon in a deep pool on the Salmon River in Northern California. Salmon can spook easily so I shot this picture with a remote set up. I had a camera in a housing on a ball head that was welded to an old barbell weight. My assistant and I placed the camera on the bottom of the river and then quietly waited for several hours for the Salmon to reappear. The camera was hardwired to a monitor and trigger on shore so I would just watch for nice compositions and decide when to hit the shutter. It was a fun way to shoot and very mesmerizing to watch these magnificent fish for hours on end.
