The staff at her assisted living facility said she was hilarious and that she had everyone laughing till the very end. She always had a wicked sense of humor: she used to tell me and my cousins that when she died, we'd better watch out because she was going to haunt us. ?

I'm not sure if she'll haunt me now, but I am grateful to be able to have so many wonderful memories of her. Grandma Pat showed me unconditional love and support, and I am still so thankful that she participated in the Bridegroom documentary. That was a huge step for her, and she did it without hesitation. In fact, her humor and love in the film touched a lot people and I heard from many who said that her perspective helped them a lot. I'm glad you all had a chance to get to see how incredible she was.

I have always said that if a politically-conservative woman who was 90+ years old, who worked as a ranch hand and killed snakes, could accept and support her gay grandson, then anyone can.
